What if an airline ceases trading?

Provided your flights were over £100 and you have paid for them using a credit card (Visa/Mastercard) you will be entitled to a refund should an airline you have booked with ceases trading. Airline failure is protected under the terms of the Consumer Credit Act. You will need to contact your card issuer to make your claim. If your flights were under £100 you may still be entitled to a refund but you will need to check with your card issuer.

What if I paid for my flights with a Debit Card?

If you have paid for your flights using a Debit card you should also still be able to apply for a refund using the ‘Visa Debit Card Chargeback Scheme’. You can contact your bank or Visa for more details as to how this scheme works.

What if I have booked a Jet2holiday, is my money protected?

In accordance with the E.U. Directive 90/314/EC all passengers booking with Jet2holidays.com are fully protected against the loss of all monies paid to us for the holiday (and repatriation if required) due to insolvency. Jet2holidays.com is protected under ATOL (Air Travel Organisers Licence) licence 9618, which is issued by the Civil Aviation Authority and offers total security and peace of mind when booking your holiday.
