Car enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Barcelona-Sitges Vintage Car Rally, which takes place in Spain’s second largest city on March 11th. Antique cars from days gone by will parade along the Catalonian coast for crowds to admire in what promises to be a wonderful spectacle.

Rally drivers bring their vintage cars from all over Europe for the 27-mile journey from Barcelona to Sitges. All the cars taking part were built before 1924, so as you can imagine, most of the vehicles are quite rare.

A Blast from the Past

The competition itself is not about speed and finishing first, it’s more about the originality of the vehicle and its age. Drivers are also awarded extra points for dressing up in appropriate vintage attire, making spectators feel like they’re just stepped out of a time machine.

Visitors can get a closer look at the all cars at Barcelona's Parc de la Ciutadella on the Saturday 10th March, before they set off on their rally from Sant Jaume square in Barcelona on Sunday morning.
