Some holiday destinations would be pleased to be awarded just one or two blue flags, but The Algarve has a massive 74 beaches with this status awarded to them, making it a destination second to none for beach loving sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts.

Family Friendly Coastline

It is not only the standard of the beaches that appeal to the families that flock to the Algarve every year, but the amenities too.  Along the coast there are a number of beach based schools training holiday makers in a wide range of water sports, as well as beach tents and life guard patrolled family beaches.  The waters here are calm and welcoming and great for kids to enjoy without the fear of strong or unpredictable currents.
