A Busy Two Months in Majorca

13th April 2011

With its status as one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe, Majorca offers visitors a multitude of different events and attractions.

Pirates in Majorca

When coupled with the Balearic Island’s year round good climate and fantastic beaches, it’s not hard to see why it has become one of Spain’s best tourist islands. With cheap flights to Majorca currently on sale with Jet2.com, it’s a great time to take advantage of March and April’s event list.

On May 1st – the first Sunday after Easter – Bellver Castle in Palma de Majorca will be the host of Angel Sunday. A festival steeped in history, it first appeared hundreds of years ago with the purpose of feeding the homeless.

The locals of Palma de Majorca now celebrate the occasion by walking the streets and gathering at the castle to share different kinds of local delicacies. Tourists are welcomed to join in with the celebrations, which also include live music, costumed parades and a range of different games for children to enjoy.

Gymnastic Pirates

In Magaluf, you can visit the Pirates Adventure Show. Having run for 26 years, the spectacle has garnered a reputation for being one of the most entertaining attractions on the entire island.

Blending together professional acrobatics, gymnastics and dancing, the pirate show is a great outing for the family and is definitely worth the trip if you’re holidaying elsewhere on the island.

Make the most of all of this with cheap flights to Majorca from Jet2.com.
