When it comes to choosing a ski destination for all the family, there are many reasons to look towards Europe. This is according to Jenny Jones, the UK’s leading female snowboarder.

Speaking in the Daily Mail she has picked out Morzine and Avoriaz as two destinations that are very family-orientated.

“A Huge Piste Area”

Both Morzine and Avoriaz are considered great ski destinations for beginners, something that Ms Jones attributes to the shared slopes. She said:

“For beginners, I would recommend the town of Morzine, or Avoriaz, the ski village that is slightly higher up the mountain - they both share the same slopes, making a huge piste area.”

Both are also the kind of resorts where you can step out of your chalet and you’re straight onto the slopes. Ms Jones continued:

“They are great for families, you just step out of your hotel or chalet and the nursery slopes are right there.”

She also recommended that the best time to go is after January because it “give[s] the best chance of good snow.”

With such a glowing reference from a seasoned expert, many families might consider Morzine or Avoriaz this winter, especially with regular cheap flights to Chambery available with Jet2.com.
