Love was quite literally in the air with Jet2.com recently, when two passengers got engaged mid-flight.
Stuart Whitelaw and Amanda Patrick were flying with Jet2.com from Leeds Bradford to Heraklion in Crete on a Jet2holidays package break, when Stuart surprised Amanda with the help of the Jet2.com cabin crew.
Stuart had quietly briefed the crew on his plans to propose, meaning they were on hand to make the occasion even more memorable. An hour before landing, they announced over the tannoy that Stuart and Amanda were onboard, and that Stuart had a question for her.
By this time, Stuart was on one knee to pop the question and after a shocked Amanda said “I do”, the happy couple enjoyed a complimentary bottle of bubbly and were personally congratulated by the captain.
Amanda said: “It was a huge surprise when the announcement came over the tannoy and Stuart got down on one knee, but it made the perfect start to a perfect holiday. What made it even more special was the way the Jet2 team treated us and got involved with the proposal.”
“They really helped to make it memorable and we cannot thank them enough for that. There is absolutely no doubt that we will book with Jet2 again.”
