Amsterdam – The City for Festivals

Amsterdam is a city with an exciting, rich and diverse array or year-round festivals. With more than 70 festivals going on every year, there really is something for everyone. Here’s a taste of festival events that will be taking place this summer.


 Amsterdam Festival

<h2>Amsterdam Roots Festival</h2>


Top musicians from around the world will perform at the city’s Oosterpark for this free outdoor event, which takes place from 23-26th June. This year more than 20 bands will perform across five stages. The festival was first held in 1998 and is now attracting 60,000 music lovers.

<h2>Amsterdam Pride</h2>

This is one of the biggest gay and lesbian festivals in Europe bringing together a vibrant mix of music, culture and dance. It takes place between the 4-7th August and includes the world famous Canal Parade, a fantastic floating display of around 80 garishly decorated boats.

<h2>Amsterdam Canal Festival</h2>

The canal festival celebrates classical music from around the world along two of the city’s main canals. The festival includes 70 concerts over ten day from the 12-21st August.
Ijmuiden Harbour Festival

The harbour festival is a cultural and nautical event, which takes place at Ijmuiden fishing harbour from the 27-28th August.

<h2>Uitmarkt Cultural Festival</h2>

This family favourite attracts over 500,000 visitors annually making it one of Holland’s most popular cultural events. The festival, which takes place from 26-28th August, celebrates music, theatre, films and books.
