Budapest – the City of Great Festivals

14th March 2012

There are many festivals throughout the year in Budapest including the popular Spring Festival and perhaps the lesser known Fringe Festival. Film buffs visiting the city in April might want to check out Budapest’s annual Titanic Film Festival.

Flower Palace of Budapest

Since its maiden voyage nine years ago, Budapest’s Titanic film festival has refused to live up to its name and sink. The event attracts thousands of film fans each year and has also gained worldwide recognition.

Featuring the Best Movies From Around the Globe

According to the festival’s director, Gyorgy Horvath, Titanic’s philosophy is: “to collect a wide variety of daringly new, original and trend-breaking motion pictures from every possible corner of the world, be it dark comedies, emotionally charged dramas, genre films, or documentaries”.

In Association with Raindance

The UK’s largest film festival, Raindance, recently formed a partnership with the Titanic Film Festival, and as part of the deal, Titanic will screen some of the best films shown at last year’s Raindance Film Festival. It’s a partnership that shows just how far Titanic has progressed since it was established in 1993.

The Titanic Film Festival runs from 7th – 17th April. For more details about the event visit: http://www.titanicfilmfest.hu
