The Dordogne Valley (Brive), is one
of France’s best kept secrets – stunning villages, beautiful countryside,
fascinating history and plenty of sports and outdoor activities to enjoy.
La Roque Gageac is reputed to be one of the most beautiful villages in France,
with the village clustering up the steep rockface, the river running alongside
and the picture book castle it is a breath taking and charming place to visit –
it can be enjoyed on foot, on boat trip or under your own steam in a
canoe.
Nearby Sarlat is famous for its market
where you can pick up the local delicacies including pink garlic and foie gras,
enjoy exploring this fascinating town on foot – it bustles with life amongst
stunning architecture that spans the ages.
The region is also perfect for
active holidays – and for ensuring the kids don’t get bored! The Dordogne river
offers some of the best canoeing in France, and the area is perfect for road or
mountain biking, on some of the oldest trails in the world – used by our
prehistoric ancestors! The varied terrain is also great for horse trekking,
hiking, climbing and abseiling and caving –

found. 250 UNESCO classified world heritage sites and plenty of spots for great
fly fishing mean this is a destination which really does have something for
everyone!
