Whilst Lanzarote is best known for its family-friendly resorts and beaches full of young travellers, there are still many spots where those craving a little peace and quiet can come to relax on cheap flights to Lanzarote.
Many of these places are coastal towns but they will be almost completely free of tourists, and offer a unique insight into the ‘real’ Lanzarote, where locals spend their days fishing or farming.
Catch a Wave
Caleta de Famara is one of these places, a fishing village on the North-West coast where you’ll find some of the most stunning views on the island. It’s also a popular spot for surfers thanks to the waves that lap the shoreline, but if you don’t fancy getting out on the water you can enjoy a breezy walk along the cliffs.
Another popular destination for visitors on cheap Jet2.com flights to Lanzarote is Arrieta, another sleepy fishing village that couldn’t feel any further away from the busy resorts. For a getaway with a difference, stay in one of Arrieta’s eco-friendly yurts or cottages that are also just metres from the sandy beach.
However perhaps the most beautiful place to visit on cheap flights to Lanzarote is the tranquil village of Yaiza – after all, it’s been voted the ‘Prettiest Village in Spain’ on more than one occasion! Aside from being a visual delight, Yaiza is also close to the volcanoes at Timanfaya, making it a truly unforgettable place to spend your break.
