One of Spain’s most adrenaline-fuelled events is fast approaching – the Running of the Bulls, when brave men, and sometimes women, race in front of six bulls through the streets of Pamplona as part of the San Fermin fiestas.

This exciting event dates back to the 14th Century, and began as a method of hurrying bulls across the city to the bullrings. The Running of the Bulls quickly became a tradition, and is now a thrilling spectacle to observe after arriving on cheap flights to Spain with Jet2.com.
Race to Beat the Bulls
The San Fermin fiestas run from 7th-14th July and bull runs take place every morning of the fiestas at 8am, when a rocket is fired to signal to runners that the gate housing the bulls is open. When all six bulls have been released a second rocket is fired, and the runners start their race across the city to the bullring, with the bulls charging behind them.
The bulls and runners are separated from spectators by robust fences, so don’t worry – you won’t accidentally become a participant!
However if you’d prefer to celebrate the fiestas of San Fermin in a more peaceful manner after arriving on cheap flights to Spain, there are many colourful parades, sporting events and wild parties to enjoy, with not a charging bull in sight.
