In fact there's been such a frenzy of bookings from bargain hunters in the North, that accommodation owners in the best ski resorts are struggling to keep up.
Ahead of what's predicted to be one of the best ski seasons for years, reports are coming in of major hotels filling up on key dates and the "no vacancies" signs are already being put up.
News & Views has been contacted by Pierre, who runs a popular hotel in Val D'Isere and he said "I've been overwhelmed by the number of bookings for this Winter from people in the North of England and anyone looking for rooms during the Christmas period, February school holiday and Easter had better move fast".
So, if you intend to hit the slopes this season, take Pierre's advice and "get you skates on!"
