Hard-up Holidaymakers Jet Away for Less with the Help of myJet2

12th September 2011

  • Jet2.com triples the value of reward points on selected flights to help Brits get away
  • Fly to Rome from just 200 points with leisure airline’s loyalty scheme

Jet2.com has put thousands of discounted reward seats up for grabs, to help cash-strapped holidaymakers planning their next escape get away for even less.

Reward seats now cost as little as 200 points, plus taxes and charges.  An increased number of reward seats have been made available so there’s no better time to book a city, sun or ski break.

Members of the myJet2 loyalty programme earn one point for every £1 spent on flights as well as pre-bookable extras such as baggage and in-flight meals. Points can also be earned for flights booked for family and friends, making them stack up quickly!

Reward flights usually cost between 600 and 1,200 points one way, depending on the destination, but until 31st October 2011 members will be able to triple the value of their points on selected flights until summer 2012.  This means lucky customers can now book a return flight to European hotspots including Rome, Faro and Geneva.

Steve Heapy, Chief Commercial Officer of Jet2.com, said: “We are urging customers to remember to sign up to receive our recession-busting points, and to use points they have already accrued, on new flight bookings to one of our exciting city, sun or ski destinations – especially whilst they’re worth up to three times their normal value!  The reduced points promotion is valid on selected flights booked throughout September which is when we see a pre-winter surge in bookings, so now is the perfect time to book that autumn city break, winter sun escape, ski adventure, or even summer 2012 getaway, without having to raid the piggy bank!

“With the current points promotion now is the ideal time to join the scheme to start collecting points. myJet2 is a great way for us to thank our fantastic loyal customers and whether joining the scheme now or cashing in existing points, redeeming is easy and can be done in just a few clicks online.

“Points are awarded immediately upon booking so members don’t need to wait until after they have travelled to redeem them. In fact the scheme is so flexible that even if you don’t have enough points for everyone in your party to travel - you can redeem points for some seats and simply pay as normal for the remaining members of your party.”

Since myJet2 launched in November 2008, members have redeemed a whopping 68,000 free flights, with the Algarve and the Spanish hotspots of Majorca, Alicante, Murcia and Malaga proving the most popular destinations.

In order to book reward seats, members simply log into their myJet2 account at www.myJet2.com before 31st October 2011 and click on the ‘spend my points’ tab.

Jet2.com operates from eight northern bases – Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Manchester, East Midlands, Blackpool, Belfast International, Edinburgh and Glasgow and flies to 46 city, sun and ski destinations. Flights start from just £11.99 one way including taxes. Customers enjoy friendly low fares, convenient flight times, a generous 22kg baggage allowance and allocated comfortable leather seats.
