10th December 2010

For the very first time, holidaymakers and ex-pats looking for convenient flights from the UK to the Spanish hot-spot of Murcia can now arrive in time to enjoy a sangria in the afternoon sun, thanks to Jet2.com, the north's leading leisure airline with friendly low fares.

Murcia

As of next spring, Jet2.com will operate the earliest flights to Murcia of all UK airlines, making travelling more convenient for passengers and helping them to make the most of every minute of their time away.

Murcia is a particularly popular location for people with a second home in Spain and is often referred to as the 'hidden gem' on the Costa Blanca, ideal for sightseeing as well as beach holidays with good year round climate.

Ian Doubtfire, managing director at Jet2.com, commented: "Our flights to Murcia are very popular with the ex-pat community, as well as holidaymakers 'in the know' about this hidden hotspot! We are delighted that we can now provide improved service to our valued customers. We can now fly travellers to Murcia earlier in the day than any other airline flying from the UK.

"'Friendly flight times' is one of our key customer benefits alongside our generous 22kg baggage allowance, friendly low fares and points with MyJet2."

Stunning sandy beaches, the worlds' largest salt-water lagoon, and water sports like sailing and windsurfing, all set against a breath-taking mountainous backdrop, make Murcia a fun destination for a family holiday. The trendy resort of La Manga is only 20 minutes away, where sports stars and sun seekers come together in one complex. With three world class golf courses, a tennis centre, palm-tree lined streets, shops and recreational facilities aplenty, it's a little piece of holiday heaven!
