Ian Doubtfire, Managing Director of Jet2.com, said: "It's great that we've been able to partner with Greggs to send our passengers on their way with a tasty treat, to really whet their appetites for our two new exciting Italian destinations. With sensational sights and stylish shopping, as well as excellent food, both have plenty to offer and we’re thrilled with how popular these destinations are proving with North East holidaymakers. There is no doubt that these additions give Newcastle travellers even greater choice as we continue to provide access to the finest city and sun destinations direct from their local airport."
Dave Laws, Chief Executive at Newcastle International, said: "Today marks the inaugural flights for two of Jet2.com's new routes which were announced in December last year. Rome and Venice are fantastic cities and we’re delighted to offer our customers these destinations from Newcastle Airport. The new routes will not only provide more choice for leisure breaks, but also encourage inbound tourism. The collaboration with Greggs, a favourite with our customers, will prove very popular.
