Jet2.com today took part in a special initial stage of the 2014 Tour de France. The leading leisure airline was chosen to fly the Welcome to Yorkshire and Tour de France committee into Leeds for a civic reception, following the official launch of the Grand Départ 2014 in Paris earlier in the day.
In honour of its involvement and to celebrate the region hosting the prestigious opening days of next year’s race, Jet2.com’s very own Yorkshire aircraft – with special Grand Départ 2014 livery – jetted off to collect its VIP passengers.
Steve Heapy, Jet2.com Chief Executive, said: “Yorkshire hosting the start of the 2014 Tour de France is brilliant news. As the region’s leading leisure airline we were delighted to have been able to play a role in the initial stages of what will be a historic event for our region.”
