Leeds Bradford Airport’s (LBA) Chief Executive John Parkin and
Managing Director of the airport’s largest airline, Leeds based Jet2.com, Ian Doubtfire, celebrated the
airport’s 80th anniversary.
Last week from Monday to Friday the airline had 80 departures from
Leeds Bradford Airport, one for every year the airport has been open!
The momentous anniversary was a time to reflect on the recent
years which have seen Jet2.com’s expansion attract
millions of new customers to Yorkshire’s airport. The airline now has 10
aircraft based at Leeds Bradford and carries 1.5million passengers annually to
39 destinations. During the summer peaks Jet2.com operate more than 300
flights a week from the Yorkshire airport.
Over the last 12 months new routes have continue to be added to Jet2.com’s
range of destinations, including Gran Canaria, Bodrum and Madeira. The
partnership between Leeds Bradford Airport and Jet2.com continues to be
mutually beneficial and both parties look towards a bright future.
