Due to wed this coming Friday, Michelle and her fiancé William were left devastated when the news hit that tour operator XL, with whom they had booked their flights and accommodation, had collapsed.
The couple were ecstatic when the airline Jet2.com, who along with the Manchester Evening News, offered to fly them to Cyprus for free along with their three-year-old daughter Nicole yesterday. With the couple now in sunny Cyprus, their family and friends are racing against time to find replacement flights after theirs were also cancelled by XL.
Philip Meeson, boss of Jet2.com, said: "We always strive to go the extra mile for our customers and are more than happy to step in and save Michelle and William's wedding day. Getting married should be the happiest day of a couple's life, which is why we were determined to help them get to the church - in Cyprus - on time!"
