A York
woman declared she was ‘gobsmacked’ after winning the latest must have gadget,
an iPad2, thanks to Yorkshire’s leading
leisure airline Jet2.com.

Katie Maw from the Wigginton Road area of York, won her prize as part of Jet2.com’s
grand draw which marked the launch of the airline’s new state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system. The iPad2 is one of the lightest and most powerful tablet computers available,
making it the best way to experience the web, email, photos and video on the
move.
Runner up
prizes in the draw included various gadgets such as Underwater Digital Video
Cameras which are available to purchase onboard, Nintendo DSis and Jet2.com
gift vouchers.
Katie, who won
the prize after booking flights for a family holiday to Bodrum, was delighted
to hear the news and said: “I am gobsmacked I have won, I never win anything! We decided to book with Jet2.com last minute after
we were let down by another airline. Having had great service from Jet2.com
before on a trip to Spain,
I was delighted when I found out they flew to Bodrum! We included in-flight
entertainment in our booking to keep our daughter and nephew occupied during
the flight, particularly as they can share it. I can’t thank Jet2.com enough for this great prize!”
Retail
Director of Jet2.com, Paul Humphreys, said: “As the leading leisure airline
for the north we wanted to reward those who had booked one of our new in-flight
entertainment systems. Our personal hand-held media players have proved hugely
popular with customers since their launch in December, giving the choice to
watch what you want, when you want and making a great start to any holiday.
We’re delighted for Katie and hope she and her family enjoy their prize; maybe
she’ll even be able to use it to research her next Jet2holiday!”
In-flight
entertainment is available on selected Jet2.com routes to the Canary Islands,
Israel, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and New York, giving customers on longer flights
the chance to enjoy everything from blockbuster movies and top TV shows including Only Fools and Horses
and Gavin and Stacey, to chart topping albums. Meanwhile current choices for
younger viewers include the favourite Kung Fu Panda, Spongebob Squarepants and
What’s New Scooby Doo.
The devices have a high resolution seven
inch touchscreen and offer quality audio delivered through a set of ear phones
which the customer can keep, or as the units have a standard headphone jack
they can choose to use their own. Jet2.com sells headphone splitters
onboard the aircraft making it possible to share a device between two people –
ideal to keep the kids entertained!
The in-flight entertainment units can be
pre-booked online from £7.50 or purchased as part of a family bundle which also
includes baggage and seat selection. Alternatively units can be hired on board,
subject to availability, for £10.00 per flight. For trips to New York, in-flight entertainment is
available for £15.00 per flight. Each unit can be attached to the seat in front
or can stand on the seat back tray table.
