The 22nd annual Marmaris International Race Week is set to take place in the bay of Marmaris from October 29th- November 4th. The event sees racing boats and hundreds of keen sailors from all corners of the globe competing against each other.
It’s a spectacular race to watch and the Turkish resort of Marmaris is particularly buzzing during the week of the Mediterranean regatta.
Setting Sail in Marmaris
Sailing is a popular pastime in Marmaris and there are many excursions and boat hire places to choose from. A lazy day out on an excursion boat is one of the best ways to explore the beautiful Aegean island.
Spend your day sunbathing on the sunny deck while the kids swim and snorkel in the crystal clear waters. The views off the coast of Marmaris are unbelievable with pine-clad mountains as far as the eye can see.
Most boat excursions stop at different coves and bays so you’re able to hop off the boat to explore the surrounding area and perhaps have a bite to eat at one of the traditional local tavernas.
Popular Marmaris stopovers include Paradise Island, Aquarium Bay, Green Sea Bay, Turunc Beach and the phosphorus caves.
