- Five new destinations from £35.99 one way including taxes
Jet2.com recently announced its expansion at Newcastle International Airport for
2012. This year Jet2.com will offer five exciting new
destinations - Dubrovnik, Bodrum, Rome, Reus and Venice. Flights to these
popular destinations will commence from May this year, with prices starting
from £35.99 one way including taxes. These new destinations bring the
total number of Jet2.com destination from Newcastle to 26.
North
East holidaymakers will also be able to take advantage of Jet2holidays great value ATOL protected package holidays starting from £299,
with only a £60 deposit and a current offer of £100 off per booking for
bookings made before 29 February 2012.
Travelling will get even easier
for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays passengers at
Newcastle International Airport following its announcement of plans for a brand
new three-storey extension which will create an additional 5,242 sq ft of
security search accommodation, in a £3.2 million pound investment. The capacity
will ultimately provide up to 10 lanes in total to screen hand luggage ahead of
entry into the departure lounge, five more than are currently in operation.
Scheduled for completion by spring this year, the build is being rolled out in
phases to ensure minimum disruption to customers.

The enhanced area will be
equipped with the latest in security screening technology to ensure that the
customers pass though the security stage of their journey as swiftly and
comfortably as possible. Graeme Mason at Newcastle Airport said: "We
are very much looking forward to May next year when the development is
complete. We want to make the customer’s journey through security as quick and
efficient as possible and this new extension will help with this. 2012
promises to be an exciting year for Newcastle International. These investments
are a sign of confidence in both the North East and in the airport."
