Madeira is famous for its year-round sunshine, unforgettable mountainous scenery and beautiful gardens. These are just a few of the reasons why the ‘The Pearl of the Atlantic’ attracts some of the world’s top golfers each year for the PGA Championship.
This season marks The European Tour’s 20th visit to the island. Over the years the event has taken place at three separate venues on the island including: Campo de Golf and Santo de Serra. This year the event is set to take place over at Porto Santo Golfe.
Last year Irishman Michael Hoey got his second win on The European Tour, and he later went on to triumph again in 2011 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This year’s Golf Open will take place from the 10th-13th May.
