As if the list of reasons to visit on cheap flights to Berlin wasn’t long enough, here’s one more – the Tierpark Berlin zoo has just welcomed the arrival of an adorable baby elephant!
Born on 8th May and weighing an eye-popping 102kg, the not-so-tiny male elephant calf is yet to be given a name, but he has already been busy exploring his enclosure under the watchful eye of his mother Nova. The cute calf is actually Nova’s second birth, following the birth of her first baby Horas, back in 2005.
A Cornucopia of Creatures
The little elephant is the newest addition to the exciting array of animals residing at the Tierpark Berlin, whose numbers are just shy of 8,000 and include 950 different species. Amongst the critters are capybaras, flamingos, penguins and pandas, so you’re sure to get an up-close encounter with your favourite animal, and maybe even discover some new favourites too.
A day out at the Tierpark Berlin to catch a glimpse of the new baby is sure to be a highlight of your visit to Berlin on cheap flights from Jet2.com, but if you’re can’t get enough of your creatures be sure to schedule in a visit to Berlin’s other zoo, the Zoological Garden, and of course don’t forget to bring your camera!
