22nd April 2011
The French capital comes alive during Easter, but always has its many other events to enjoy.
As one of the great cultural hubs of Europe, Paris is constantly playing host to a number of great events, and cheap flights to the city mean it is one of the most popular of tourist destinations.
With Easter just around the corner, the French capital has begun preparations to celebrate the Christian holiday in earnest. From the 23rd until the 25th of April, the city’s famous Notre Dame Cathedral will be holding services, with the Friday and Sunday being the most prominent days for events.
On Easter Sunday itself, onlookers will be able to hear the chanting under the building’s roof, so loud that vibrations can be felt. If you’re holidaying in Paris at the time, it’s a spectacle that shouldn’t be missed.
Throughout April, Paris’s Parc Foral will be playing host to the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Held every year in the city, the event exhibits the work of more than four hundred new artists, and comprises a variety of different pieces, including abstract, contemporary and traditional.
Attendees of the Salon can expect to view paintings, photos and sculptures and the diverse range of works mean there will certainly be something on display to everyone’s liking. What’s more, the location of the event, in Parc Floral, is one of the beautiful small pockets of Paris, and boasts colourful flowerbeds that are worth the trip in themselves.
This is all well worth visiting with cheap flights to Paris from Jet2.com.
