Bodrum is fast becoming Turkey’s number one place to dance the night away. It’s easy to see why Bodrum is known as the night life capital of Turkey. The town has more bars than most places in Turkey, giving Istanbul a run for its money when it comes to discos and clubs.
As soon as the sun sets the atmosphere is something special. If you really want to let your hair down you can dance until dawn aboard Turkey’s only floating disco, the Bodrum Catamaran, or enjoy the sizzling atmosphere in one of Europe’s few open air nightclubs like the famous Halikarnas.
However, if you’re looking for something a little more serene, there are plenty of places that offer a quiet drink including intimate seaside cafes and bars with magnificent views of Bodrum’s illuminated castle.
A great mix of live bands and music
As well as traditional pubs and clubs, Turkey has what’s known as the meyhane. This is a traditional restaurant or bar that serves meze and other traditional local foods. Modern meyhane’s also have live bands where crowds usually gather and sing along to the music. But a word of warning, many of these bands don’t perform until close to midnight so you may have to sacrifice a few hours of sleep.
With cheap flights to Bodrum now available at Jet2.com, you could be experiencing the unique atmosphere of a Turkish meyhane with your family and friends.
