20th May 2011
Later this month, from 27th to the 29th May, the Prague Food Festival takes place in the gardens of Prague Castle. Once again food from the city’s leading restaurants and chefs will be available, with some culinary delights already revealed, like beer cheese and oysters with shallot vinaigrette.
The festival has been steadily growing over the past few years and a slight change in location is thought to give it added appeal. Last year the festival was held in the southern gardens of the castle but this year it will be held at the Royal Gardens in view of the Royal Summer Palace.
Lots to Sample Over Three Days
Over the three days visitors will be treated to live cooking demonstrations from leading local chefs like Alcron's Roman Paulus and Aromi's Riccardo Lucque and the Pilsner, matching beer with food shows will be worth a visit.
The festival is also an excellent opportunity for visitors to learn about new restaurants, for instance, this year sees the first Chinese restaurant involved.
Whilst being a great day out in its entirety, it is also an excellent event for discovering more about the rich food culture in the city. With food taking as much prominence as beers in the capital, cheap flights to Prague later this month will present a great opportunity to indulge in this.
