Just two years ago, tourists
were turning their backs on two of the most established and much loved holiday
destinations amid fears they could no longer afford to visit. However, the Post
Office Travel Money has now identified Portugal and Spain as the two best value
destinations in 2011.
The findings were based on
costs at ten popular travel destinations with Portugal coming out the cheapest.
This, doubled with Jet2.com’s sale on cheap flights to the Algarve, Malaga and
other Spanish destinations is likely to increase the number of visitors to two
of the best known holiday locations.
Great Value for Money
The report found that the
Algarve was offering the best value for money when the cost of a three course
meal, drinks and sun cream were accumulated. This combination reaches just
£32.82 in Portugal. Spain offered the next best value.
A lot of this is based on the
falling of the Euro against the pound, once again making holidays in this area
of Europe very popular.
Despite this information, it
isn’t thought that bookings to some of 2010’s hotspots, like Turkey and Egypt
are likely to be affected. Instead, it could see more people once again
treating themselves and or the family to a holiday abroad in 2011.
Cheap flights to Faro and Malaga from Jet2.com are currently on sale.
