With Glastonbury 2012 cancelled and the price of many other UK events soaring, a growing number of music fans are looking to Europe to get their music festival fix. Barcelona already has a formidable reputation for its culture and nightlife, so it is no surprise that the thriving city is playing host to some of this year’s biggest events.
In May and June, Primaverasound hosts two weekends of rock, indie and dance music in the city, with confirmed acts including household names Björk and the Cure. A mere week later, dance music and multimedia festival Sonar kicks off for a whole week of art, electronica and pioneering performance.
Even More Reason to Travel Abroad for a Music Festival
In July you can travel a little further down the coast to Benicassim to catch legends such as the Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher and Florence and the Machine. Meanwhile, later in the year, budget travellers can make the most of off-season pricing at the renowned Voll-Damn International Jazz Festival, a two month long event featuring performers from all over the world.
With affordable admission prices and Jet2.com’s low cost flights direct to Barcelona, you could save money, see your favourite bands and get a great holiday into the bargain.
