New York has recently recruited some slightly unusual
ambassadors to encourage families from across the globe to visit the magnificent
city, and you may recognise them! They’re small, blue, and some fashion white
beards... yes it’s the Smurfs!
After filming their upcoming film
in New York City, The Smurfs have been named the “Get More NYC Family
Ambassadors” to encourage more families to visit
the Big Apple, with a special itinerary of things to
do and see in the city on their website.
The ‘Smurf-tinerary’ includes some
of the locations visited by the little blue folk during their adventures in New
York City. Manhattan’s family must-dos include Belvedere Castle and the
Boathouse Restaurant in Central Park; the United States’ oldest toy store, FAO
Schwarz; and Times Square. Not forgetting the Statue of Liberty giving children
the chance to feel as small as a Smurf next to a full-sized human.
