22nd March 2011
As one of the great cultural hubs of central Europe, Prague is a city with an abundance of sights to see, places to go and things to do.
Since the early 1990s, the Czech Republic’s capital has attracted some of the highest amounts of tourists in the world, becoming one of the most popular European destinations. The high quality of events in the city over the next few weeks provides a good example of exactly why cheap flights to Prague with Jet2.com are so popular.
A Unique Exhibition
Until April, the Czech Museum of Music will have a Beatles inspired exhibition on entitled Beatlemania. The exhibition has a twofold purpose – the first is to tell the story of The Beatles themselves, from their beginnings in Liverpool through to their world domination.
The second tells the story of lives in former Czechoslovokia during the time when the Beatles were prominent, and what sort of impact the British four-piece had on them. Prepared by various institutions throughout Europe, the unique exhibition includes both interactive and purely aesthetical features, making it a great option for a diverse range of people.
From Music to Film
From the 24th March until the beginning of April, Prague’s International Film Festival, Fabiofest, will take place.
Now in its 18th year, the event has become one of the largest film festivals in Central Europe, with several thousand feature-length, short, documentary and animated films being screened throughout the week that it’s on.
After the films have finished screening in the day, the festival takes on a music emphasis in the evening, with a range of different bands performing various genres of music throughout numerous venues in Prague. With cheap flights to Prague readily available this month, you could quite easily visit the Czech capital on a day when a particular film you want to see is being screened.
