If you act fast you can still join in the celebrations with Prague’s Spring Music Festival. Cheap flights to Prague with Jet2 will get you to Ruzyně Airport in time to catch some choice concerts and performances in the Czech capital.
The annual festival is in its 67th year and, for the whole of May, Prague plays host to some of the world’s finest orchestras performing some of history’s greatest music.
An essential destination for music lovers all year round, performances of opera, classical music recitals and ballet concerts can be found in Prague every day, but each spring the city pulls out all the stops showcasing the best in musical talent. This year’s festival is of particular significance, coinciding with the 170th birthday of Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.
Amazing and Original Works of Art
All over Prague – Dvořák’s hometown – performances of his work will be set alongside interactive exhibits and displays of original scores and personal artefacts. Dvořák will also bring the packed Festival programme to a close, with the Prague Symphony Orchestra performing his patriotic celebration of the city, My Home, at the beautiful Smetana Hall on June 3rd.
Prague is hosting more than one festival, however, with the country’s largest beer festival running until June 2nd. Entry is free, and over 70 world-famous Czech beers and traditional cuisine are on offer to patrons drawn from all over the world.
Good food, good beer and great music – all in a day’s work for Prague.
