While most Italian cities are known for their stylish shops, bustling galleries historical landmarks and mouth-watering restaurants, Venice is perhaps better known for its canals and beautiful architecture. In particular, it’s striking Venetian villas along the River Brenta and other canals.
For most of the year, tourists can only admire these Venetian villas from a distance as they walk through the streets and pass along the maze of canals. However, The Festival of Venetian Gardens allows visitors to stop and take a closer look at the renowned world of Venetian villas and its beautiful hidden gardens.
From September 25th – 11th October, the city opens its doors and guided tours take visitors through some of the Lagoon City’s most exclusive villas and gardens.
Botanists, landscape artists and local historians lead the tours and share their extensive knowledge about the various buildings, gardens and its hidden treasures.
Tours must be booked in advance
