Customer Comments for Majorca

The Port area is very stylish and relaxed with a beautiful marina. The promenade stretches along the sea front and is known as the pine walk. It is lined with sophisticated bars restaurants and shops, which range from boutiques to souvenir shops.

Moving away into the centre of the village the winding streets are lined with restaurants and cafes, all offering excellent food. Ranging from Mexican, Tapas to Italian and even Indian. More info on the restaurants can be found on www.puertopollensa.com. We tried a few of their recommendations and all were lovely.

These lanes lead directly to the main square which on an evening comes alive with market stalls and entertainers. The nightlife is low key involving an evening stroll. Dinner and drinks.

A car is not essential however we rented a villa and a car and all roads are accessible. Do not miss an opportunity to drive to the top of the island (10 mins drive). There are tourist viewing areas and the sunsets are beautiful over the dramatic cliffs.

On the road from Puerto Pollensa to the old town of Pollensa you will find 2 excellent supermarkets. They sell everything you could possibly need, especially if you are staying in a villa.

The old town of Pollensa is packed with winding streets, a few cafes, petrol station and shops and bars. Much lower key than the port. In the main square on a Sunday morning the weekly farmers' market id held. This is unbelievable and really cheap. Amazing produce can be bought and it is a chance to try out your Spanish and mingle with the locals. Be patient as they usually get served first too.

All in all a beautiful destination and will probably not stay this way forever. A last glimmer of what Majorca used to be like.
