Sight Seeing in Reus
Reus, although a fairly tranquil picturesque town, has lots going on and one great time of year to visit in particular is June when the streets come alive with live music, signing, flamenco dancing and entertainers giving you a real taste of Spanish Fiestas. Reus was famous for the production of brandy so perhaps try a tipple during the Fiesta to wash down some tapas!
The coastline of the Costa Dorada is beautiful with rocky coves set against golden sands and blue seas which you can see for miles. Salou is a popular seaside resort in easy reach from Reus making it the perfect base for holiday with beaches, countryside and town life all rolled into one.
If you’re interested in the works of the famous Architect Gaudi, you’ll be interested to know he lived here and although none of his work can be found here, there is a Modernist Route you can follow which takes you past some of the more interesting works of architecture here including the Modernist Buildings of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. If you do love Gaudi’s colourful and wacky style then the buzzing city of Barcelona which is approx a 1 hour drive away is well worth a visit, if not for its shops, modern port area and fantastic beaches.
There is also a theme park nearby - the popular Port Aventura Theme Park, approximately 8 kms from Reus – perfect for a thrilling day out!
Reus and nearby Salou offer plenty of places to eat out day and night with most restaurants having outdoor terraces so you can enjoy the warm weather during your evening meal too. Places here cater to all palates but the traditional food is tapas which are small dishes of various Spanish meats, cheeses, vegetables and breads.
As well as Barcelona there are many great holidays’ hotspots near Reus that can be accessed by car or bus such as the coastal resorts of La Pineda and Cambrils if you want to explore your surroundings more.

Reus combines nearby beaches and pretty scenery with the great choice of restaurants and bars on offer in the town making it a perfect destination for couples who want to enjoy a holiday together in the sun. Make the most of the beautiful climate by relaxing in the day as the sun beats down or take a gentle stroll along the sands of the beaches in Salou and take in the picturesque Costa Dorada coastline.
As the evening draws in, stay at the beach to watch the sunset or find a traditional bar where you can enjoy some local Spanish wine together then head to one of the many restaurants around to dine al fresco under the stars like the locals do. For a livelier evening head to Salou which has a variety of fantastic paella restaurants as well as cocktail bars and nightclubs.

Reus is the perfect base for a fun beach holiday with your mates with the Costa Dorada coastline offering beautiful beaches where you can simply soak up the sun or hit the seas with some watersports. Reus itself offers plenty of shops, bars and restaurants whether you fancy a quick bite to eat, a refreshing drink or a long relaxing evening meal.
You can’t go to Reus without having a day trip to the Port Aventura Theme Park which has a large choice of rides from the more gentle to the terrifying! Also popular for a fun day out is the Costa Caribe Water Park which has lots of exciting water rides, flumes and rapids as well as a wave pool.
Eating out in Reus gives you chance to try delicious traditional dishes like Paella and tapas or you can head to Salou for restaurants ranging from Chinese, Italian and even good old British pub grub! The nightlife is more lively in nearby Salou with bars and nightclubs playing everything from dance, Flamenco and live bands to the songs you know and love!
Family Fun in Reus
The family friendly beaches of Salou are nearby and many are blue flag awarded so mum and dad can relax that they are safe for the kids to play on and of course, splash about!
Port Aventura Theme Park is perfect for a fun-filled family day out for al with rides for the little ones and the grown ups! If you prefer to make a splash then try the Costa Caribe Water Park near Salou where there are plenty of water rides for the kids plus a shallow infant swimming pool. For the older kids, the excitement of the Crazy River and the wave pool may be more appealing.
Enjoy the local cuisine by going to a tapas restaurant in the evening where the whole family can share a range a mouthwatering small dishes that the locals dine on too – always a sign of good food!
