Messonghi
Overview
Messonghi is a small and peaceful resort perfect for families and couples looking for a laidback holiday in the sun. There is a large sandy beach with views across to both mainland Greece and Albania perfect for lazy days by the sea and a large choice of water sports on offer.
The terrain is mostly flat which means there are no steep hills to climb on a hot day and every spare open area is covered in olive groves giving the resort a pretty green backdrop.
There are plenty of restaurants, tavernas and bars catering for all tastes and although Messonghi does not have a lively nightlife, the nearby resort of Moraitika provides an array of clubs and bars within a 15 minute walk.
Things to do
Chlomos
Just 4km away on a steep hillside is the village of Chlomos. This traditional Greek village is a perfect place to get away from it all, explore the narrow winding streets and visit the church, an excellent vantage point for fantastic views across Southern Corfu.
Relax
If all you're looking for from a holiday is lazy days on the beach or sat by the pool followed by relaxing evenings in a quiet Taverna then Messonghi is the place to go. Just enjoy the sunshine and the pretty landscape and you will return home rejuvenated and relaxed.
