This beautiful old port town has plenty to offer any holidaymaker. Take in the history of Rhodes in the medieval Old Town with a visit to the Acropolis of Rhodes on Monte Smith Hill where you can also get fantastic panoramic views of the resort. Another important spot is the town's Ancient Castle and its surrounding grassy ruins, which make for a perfect stroll and sunbathing spot. The old town consists of a bustling market square with winding cobbled streets and a great choice of restaurants with people spilling out onto the balconies and square in the evening.
Rhodes Aquarium makes a good day trip for families. It is owned by the National Centre for Marine Research and here you can see fascinating underwater species from sea flowers to turtles to octopuses! Also walk round the manmade but nevertheless beautiful Rodini Park where you can spot a peacock as you stroll along the bank of a stream. Take in some Greek art at the Municipal Gallery in the town centre.
In Rhodes new town the Mandraki Harbour is the first place to visit with busy markets and yachts and boats hauled up at the dock. The Lighthouse Tower of St Nicholas dominates the skyline, along with the 3 windmills. The new town is a must for shopaholics, with a mix of stylish boutiques for one off pieces and for high street names like Kookai and Benetton. If you are here for a longer stay then you can take an excursion to the nearby resort of Lindos where you can also enjoy a spot of shopping then rest your feet while you enjoy some of the finest Greek cuisine on the Island.

History abounds in the medieval town of Rhodes, in fact the beautiful architecture of the old town and its ruins have earned it a UNESCO world heritage site. Check out the 14th Century Palace of the Grand Masters and have a look round the impressive interior. Also head to the colourful mosque found in the Turkish quarter.
Rhodes old town really comes alive at night and has many hotspots to offer for groups of friends or couples looking for a romantic drink out on a terrace bar overlooking the port. For an alternative night out, catch a performance at the National Theatre located by the town hall square or try your luck at Rhodes Casino housed in The Grand Hotel Summer Palace.
