Austria

Austria

Skiing is at the epicentre of life in Austria – known for its beautiful villages, impeccable pistes and value for money, a ski holiday in many of the resorts would be difficult to beat. The Austrians take great pride in their skiing, and many famous winter sport competitions are held in Austria for this reason.

Although not as famous as the French or as high as the Swiss Alps, Austria’s passion for skiing, along with the Alpine villages and scenery will not leave you disappointed! Once you arrive in Salzburg Airport, you are within easy access of numerous ski resorts, each offering numerous activities for winter sports fanatics of all ages & abilities, with something for all.

Resorts:  Alpbach | Ellmau | Obertauern | Schladming | Soll

France

France

Known by many ski fanatics as "the best skiing in the world", France uses a combination of traditional ski resorts with some of the finest après-ski in the world to deliver a ski experience like no other.

The famous Three-Valley region, home of Mont Blanc (the tallest mountain in the Alps), is renowned for its many runs of various difficulties & famous après ski bars; however, with more and more resorts emerging each year, there is something to suit all budgets & tastes. Chambery Airport is your gateway to most of the French resorts, and along with the combination of great French cuisine, social atmosphere, beautiful views and (of course) the local wine, you’ll want to return for years to come!

Resorts:  Alpe d'Huez | Avoriaz | Chamonix | Châtel | Courchevel | Flaine | La Tania | Les Arcs | Les Deux Alpes | Les Gets | Les Menuires | Megeve | Meribel | Morzine | Serre Chevalier | St Martin de Belleville | Tignes | Val d'Isere | Valmoral | Val Thorens

Italy

Italy

Skiing in Italy has always had a charm of its own; a very different experience to traditional Alpine skiing, the Italians are renowned for their warm welcomes & fantastic food, which tends to be much cheaper than France or Swiss resorts!

The resorts tend to have excellent variation in level, with both advanced & beginning skiers sure to be satisfied! Only a short drive from Milan Airport, the Dolomites are also fantastic for non-ski activities, and are especially well known for mountain climbing, so if you fancy something a little different, why not give Italy a try?

Resorts:  Cervinia | Courmayeur | La Thuile | Livigno | Madonna Di Campiglio | Monterosa Ski | Sauze D'Oulx | Sestriere

Switzerland

Switzerland

Switzerland is globally known for its picture-postcard villages, lakes & forests… oh and skiing as well! A ski holiday in Switzerland will provide you with the classic Alpine experience, and once you touch down in Geneva Airport you will find yourself right in the heart of it all.

With some fantastic mountains, like the Matterhorn, the Swiss alpine scenery is breathtaking, and there is plenty to offer in terms of non-ski activities, the most popular being cross-country skiing… The numerous lakes also offer a chance for au-natural ice skating, and the vast forests will challenge even the best mountain-climber. A visit to one of the many natural glaciers is also a must, if you can tear yourself away from the pistes long enough!

Resorts:  Andermatt | Arosa | Champery | Davos | Saas Fee | St Moritz | Verbier | Zermatt

Andorra

Andorra

If you fancy something a bit different, why not try a ski break in Andorra? Only a short drive from Barcelona Airport, the Andorran Pyrenees are emerging as the new place to learn to ski, with the ski schools being some of the best in the region. The slopes are well suited for skiers of all abilities, and the après ski is especially popular, with many bars open late in the major resorts.

Because of its duty-free status as well, skiing in Andorra tends to be much cheaper than its Alpine competitors, with accommodation & food that rivals even the best Alpine resorts. If you are after a quieter ski holiday, then don’t fret – since Andorra has only recently been discovered as a ski haven, the lesser-known resorts are still calm & reserved enough for some solitary skiing.
