The resort

Avoriaz is a purpose-built spot on a granite cliff, perfect for snow. Thick blankets of the icy stuff cover the wooden chalets in town and coat the mountainside, creating the awesome runs linking with the renowned Portes du Soleil routes.

Classic chalet scene

It doesn’t get more traditionally alpine than Avoriaz. The car-free environment means the village sits under sheets of fluffy snow, so you’ll feel immersed in a wintery postcard scene. Although some of the architecture is quite modern, the wooden huts provide quaint accommodation.

Family fun and freestyling

This famous resort is excellent for all skiing abilities, so the little ones will be catered for on and off the slopes. There are plenty of easy and intermediate runs to try out, and if you’re into snowboarding, Avoriaz welcomes freestyling down the half-pipes.

Children’s village

If you have budding young skiers in tow, children over the age of three can spend the day in Village des Enfants. The leisure centre and ski school will keep them occupied and engaged on the snow, and there’s even an après-ski programme for all different ages.
