Calling all adrenaline junkies?

09th March 2007

The Dolomites are located in Northern Italy just 1h½ drive from Venice (4hrs from Milan). With stunning landscapes and striking peaks, The Dolomites are a mecca for those who appreciate a bit of walking, biking and climbing action in some pretty awesome surroundings.

The areas famous Via Ferrata (Iron Way) allows walkers and climbers use of otherwise isolated routes without the risks associated with unprotected scrambling and climbing. These were first created during the First World War to move mountain infantry. Discover their history in the open air war museums along the trials at 5 Torri and Mount Lagazuoi. Graded from 1 (assisted walking) to 5 (bad ass climbing) the Via Ferrata has routes to suit all skill & fitness levels.

If you fancy some high walking but don’t fancy hiking up a mountain to get there, then get yourself on one of the many ski lifts to the top of the mountains where you can hike for miles then get the lift back down. And for the full throttle adrenaline junkies out there, The Dolomites has some excellent opportunities for paragliding.

Not convinced? Well with you can fly to Venice from £12.99 or Milan from just £8.99* and until 1st April 07 you can get a free upgrade on car hire, so we reckon you’ve got no excuse!
