A large, semi-naked man covered in red body paint caused frenzy in Leeds and Manchester City Centre today after parading the streets, giving away free flights to passers by.

Freddie Free Flights was recruited by friendly low fare airline,, to bring some cheer to a gloomy January day. He was also launching’s Name that Destination competition which will see 20,000 absolutely free flights up for grabs this Friday in the airline’s biggest ever giveaway.

Freddie, accompanied by his two glamorous assistants, visited locations across the city centre giving people the chance to pull out a free flight from a bag of golden tickets. Those who weren’t lucky enough to win a flight were given a head-start for Friday’s Name That Destination competition with the answers to 10 out of the 45 destinations.

Philip Meeson, boss of, said: “There’s not much to smile about in January which is why we decided to hit the streets with Freddie Free Flights and his lovely ladies!

“He certainly made an impact and turned lots of heads. What is more, he made lots of people’s day by giving them an absolutely free flight to one of our European destinations.”

In a race against time, this Friday (30th January) 20,000 absolutely free flights worth more than £2,000,000 are up for grabs for the first people to ‘Name That Destination’ at
The website is now open for people to practice their geography before the competition starts at 12 noon on Friday 30th January. The first entrants to correctly name all 45 of’s destinations will automatically win a free return flight, including all taxes and charges paid, to any of the 45 destinations.
