Finding Dinosaurs in Southern Spain

19th May 2011 • Posted in New Routes

Visitors heading to Spain this summer will expect to find glorious weather, lots of beaches, clear blue seas and a generous helping of places to eat, drink and be merry. What they probably won’t expect to find is a collection of giant, electronic dinosaurs.

Billed as the “greatest exhibition” of robotic dinosaurs in Europe by the Spanish Tourist Office, visitors to Valencia, which is just under two hours from Alicante, will find this unusual attraction open until 29 May 2011.

A Lot to See in Valencia

There are many dinosaurs featured including popular ones like the stegosaurus, at just over two metres and the giant diplodocus, which reaches an amazing 27 metres from nose to tail.

As well as being a visually stunning exhibition there is also an educational element to it, with descriptions provided. The exhibition can be found in a picturesque part of Valencia where visitors will marvel at the multitude of Gothic and Baroque buildings.

The Serranos Towers are considered the largest Gothic gateway in Europe whilst La Catedral has three very unique gates, all built in different but imposing styles.

With so much to see and do around Valencia, visitors on cheap flights to Alicante or Barcelona might consider taking a day trip to the city.
