If you don’t want to take your time getting to the slopes, opt for a ski resort that’s closer to the airport. Choose from the likes of Wagrain, Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Söll — they’ve all got transfer times of less than two hours.

Highest resort

Pitztal Glacier is Austria’s highest resort, sitting at a whopping 3,440m and offering far-reaching alpine views. The highest ski point is marked by a modern ski station, Café 3440, which is also Austria’s highest vantage point and open all year round.

Biggest ski area

Just under two hours’ drive from Salzburg Airport is Skiwelt, one of Austria’s largest ski areas. It’s found in the stunning Wilderkaiser mountain range, boasting resorts for family and friends alike. It’s generally for intermediate levels as it’s got plenty of blue and red runs.
