Limassol is the second largest town in Cyprus and its largest seaside resort; it is located on the South coast of the island. The town is popular with tourists and enjoys a varied nightlife, a choice of shops and restaurants, beaches and an interesting history.

Among the historical sights to be found in Limassol is Limassol Castle, where Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre, making her the Queen of England. There are also several churches and an archaeological museum to visit to discover more about Limassol’s history.

There are long stretches of beaches with dark sand or pebbles and warm, clear waters to be enjoyed where you can soak up the sun or try some watersports. The beaches are also well serviced with amenities so it is easy to move straight from the beach to one of the many restaurants, cafes or tavernas for dinner with many traditional Greek meze restaurants and international cuisine on offer.
