- Newcastle locals get a taste of airline’s biggest ever in-flight menu treated Newcastle shoppers to a lunch hour with a difference today as it took over a local restaurant to serve up dishes from its biggest ever in-flight menu.

The leading leisure airline’s special ‘pop up cabin’ at Shiraz Cuisine on the Bigg Market, certainly spiced up people’s lunchtime. Visitors were given a real taste of as they reclined in spacious aircraft seats to sample Chicken Tikka Masala – voted the top dish by local travellers. Other tasty treats on offer were Thai Beef Curry and Moroccan Vegetable Tagine, all served by cabin crew Geoffrey Atkins and Laura Conley.

Steve Lee, Commercial Director at said: “We are very excited with our new meal range, which is certainly our most extensive yet. We have worked closely with our North East customers to create tailor-made meals to suit their tastebuds, providing fantastic choice and flexibility when it comes to choosing their in-flight feast. With prices starting from £6 they are also great value, certainly beating some local restaurants and cafes! I hope our passengers have as much fun tucking into the new range as we did creating them.”

Available now on all flights, the three course meals include a starter, main course, dessert plus free drink and passengers can choose any meal at any time. Children also have a choice of three nutritious meal options including All Day Breakfast, Crispy Chicken Strips and Macaroni Cheese.

The nine tempting new main meal options include: All Day Breakfast, All Day Vegetarian Breakfast, Chicken Tikka Masala, Rich Beef Casserole, Sausage and Mash, Piri Piri Chicken, Thai Beef Curry, Moroccan Vegetable Tagine plus Four Cheese Tortellini and Mediterranean Vegetables.
