Jet2.com and Jet2holidays gave customers departing for their holidays an extra lift yesterday morning, by inviting local singing group So Choir! to give an impromptu Yorkshire inspired flash mob performance at Leeds Bradford Airport.
Customers travelling from God’s Own County with Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator were surprised at check-in with a true Yorkshire sing-song, complete with themed props and flags to add to the spirit of the day.
Donning tweed flat caps, the choir sang Yorkshire anthem Ilkley Moor Baht ‘at, as well as classics by Yorkshire favourites the Kaiser Chiefs. To really put customers in the spirit they also belted out summer holiday hits such as ‘Take the Weather with You’ and ‘Staying Out for the Summer.’
Phil Ward, Managing Director of Jet2.com said: “As Yorkshire’s leading airline and tour operator we wanted to celebrate our Yorkshire heritage in style, whilst wishing customers a lovely holiday and putting everybody in the holiday spirit. We certainly managed to do that, and customers departing this morning took off on their well-deserved holidays with a real spring in their step.”
