Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks have once again responded to continued and strong demand from holidaymakers and independent travel agents in the North East by announcing a brand new destination from Newcastle Airport – the Italian city of Verona.
Just days after announcing an expanded Summer 22 programme from Newcastle Airport, the leading leisure airline and UK’s biggest operator of city breaks to Europe has moved to expand its Summer 23 programme too.
The addition of Verona means that customers and independent travel agents can now choose from 34 sun and city destinations from Newcastle Airport with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays next summer.
The companies will operate weekly services to Verona every Wednesday from 10th May 2023 right through to the end of September.
Famed as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Verona has romance around every corner. Holidaymakers can get lost among the piazzas and tangle of medieval backstreets, take a starry-eyed stroll to visit Juliet’s ivy-clad balcony, people-watch at Piazza delle Erbe or indulge in some stylish shopping along Via Mazzini. Throughout the summer months, world-class performers take to the ancient Verona Arena’s stage to perform operatic classics under the stars.
Wine lovers can try the local ruby red Valpolicella and foodies can enjoy traditional osterias that dish up meaty red wine stews, overflowing plates of pasta and bowls of creamy risotto. On top of all that, the stunning Lake Garda is on Verona's doorstep.
Customers can choose from a flight-only option with Jet2.com or a package holiday with Jet2CityBreaks available for a low £60 per person deposit. Jet2CityBreaks packages include flights with Jet2.com including 22kg hold luggage, transfers to and from the airport, as well as a choice of 2-5 star hotels in central locations, providing the perfect base from which to explore and experience Verona.
In addition to that, strong demand for flights and ATOL protected package holidays means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have a huge programme on sale next summer to a number of sunshine favourites such as the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Mainland Spain, Greece and Turkey too. With up to 125 weekly flights departing from Newcastle Airport during peak times next summer, this gives holidaymakers and independent travel agents unrivalled choice and flexibility, meaning they can choose the duration of holiday they wish.
