An apprentice from and Jet2holidays has been named as a finalist in the 2022 National Apprenticeship Awards, where he is shortlisted for the prestigious Advanced Apprentice of the Year prize.

Isaac Naylor, from Burley in Wharfedale, was announced as the regional winner at the Yorkshire and Humber National Apprenticeship Awards on Wednesday (5th October). He was selected as a regional winner, after almost 1,000 people applied and has been automatically shortlisted for the national awards and invited to a national awards ceremony in London, taking place on Wednesday 30th November.

Isaac joined Yorkshire’s leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist in July 2021 as a Software Development Apprentice, and is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the overseas management system which is utilised by the companies’ Customer Helpers in resort to ensure their customers have the best holiday experience.

Now in their 19th year, the National Apprenticeship Awards are England’s biggest apprenticeship awards ceremony and recognise and reward the achievements of exceptional apprentices, apprenticeship champions and apprenticeship employers.

Commenting on why Isaac was selected as a finalist, Rob Rose, a BBC Radio Presenter, who hosted the event, said: “Our judges thought this winning nominee showed clear examples of the impact they are having on the business as well as growing as an individual.”

Isaac said: “I’m very pleased to be named as a regional winner and as a national finalist at the National Apprenticeship Awards. It’s a real honour and a moment that I won’t forget for a very long time. I can’t wait for the final in November and am keeping everything crossed that I’m once again successful. I have loved my experience of completing my apprenticeship to date. For anyone considering doing an apprenticeship, I would encourage them to just go for it. It will really help to boost their career prospects and you certainly won’t regret it! The support from and Jet2holidays during my apprenticeship has been fantastic, and they have helped me to grow and develop enormously. I’m looking forward to seeing my career develop with them, and I’m excited as to what the future holds!”

Katie Rankin Early Careers & Future Talent Specialist (Co-Chair Yorkshire & Humber Apprenticeship Ambassador Network) said: “Isaac has been a fantastic Ambassador for Apprenticeships internally supporting all new apprentices who have joined the business over the past year and attending numerous schools and careers events to promote the range of opportunities we have across and Jet2holidays.”

She added: “He has also been a fantastic ambassador for Apprenticeships externally through his voluntary work in the Yorkshire & Humber Apprentice Ambassador Network where he now sits on the board and is the Digital Lead for the network. It has been a pleasure to see Isaac develop over the course of his Apprenticeship, and I am sure he will have a fantastic career ahead of him with and Jet2holidays.”

Earlier this year, and Jet2holidays announced that they were expanding their apprenticeship programmes and had more than 70 new apprentice positions available in 2022.

The companies’ apprenticeships cover areas of the businesses, including Finance, Marketing, IT, Procurement, Operations Control and Admin, and are spread across’s ten UK bases – Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, London Stansted and Newcastle International, as well as its Head Office in Leeds.

Apprenticeship positions are available in Engineering, Admin, Finance, Software Development, Analytics, Marketing, and IT, giving apprentices the opportunity to gain practical work experience, essential skills, and a professional qualification all while they earn. was named as the number one airline in the Best Places to Work in the UK in 2022, according to Glassdoor.
