The resort

This laid-back, family-friendly resort comes with a distinctly Austrian look and flair, and quaint chocolate-box chalets among the traditional Tirolean architecture. Pretty green meadows transform into one large winter wilderness fit for novice and pro skiers. Great snowmaking facilities keep Selva going throughout the season, while you’ll find shops and restaurants in the town centre.

Make a start

You can expect the ultimate mix of steep pistes and less challenging downhill runs in Selva Gardena, with most of the slopes being especially good for beginners or intermediates. So, if you’re new to these mountain hangouts, don’t fret. Whichever run you begin with, you’ll be wrapped up in views of the mighty Dolomites.

Best of the rest

From glacier skiing and heli-skiing to terrain parks that are perfect for snowboarders, there’s plenty to get stuck into. But if you want a break from the slopes, you can follow the hiking trails, hit the hot springs, go bowling, or even skate at the local rink.

Sparkling Selva

The hills are alive with the sound of excitement on the après-ski scene. Past the groomed slopes and thick snow-capped peaks, you’ll find a buzzing cluster of eateries and watering holes in town. Italian and Tirolean restaurants serve everything from schnitzel and dumplings to fresh pasta, while underground bars and cocktail lounges are ideal late at night.

The highlights

  • The local pistes connect to the wider Sella Ronda and Dolomiti Superski areas.
  • The nursery slopes are fab for beginners, so the resort is well equipped for families.
  • You can try some delicious authentic Tirolean cuisine here.
