    • Marvellous Morzine

      Marvellous Morzine

With just under 300 runs to conquer, this epic French favourite is spot on for families and all skill levels. Whether you’re hoping to hone your skills on the easy slopes around Le Pleney, or nail those grabs in Stash terrain park, Morzine is a winner. And it’s all set in breathtaking surroundings, where textbook Alpine chalets sweep up the mountainsides. It’s got a lively medley of great restaurants and bars doing happy hours.

    • Cosmopolitan Courmayeur

      Cosmopolitan Courmayeur

This boutique spa town offers a lavish experience. Courmayeur ticks all the boxes not just for skiing, but character and a stylish après scene. First and foremost, there’s an area for beginners called the Baby Bowl, but this resort is well geared-up for intermediates. Check out the red runs with sculpted couloirs. When the lights go down, order a glass of wine in a suave bar and mingle with the well-heeled locals.

    • Laid-back La Clusaz

      Laid-back La Clusaz

Something of an underdog in the skiing stakes, La Clusaz isn’t as well-known as its big-name Three Valleys counterparts, but you can enjoy less bustling and jostling on the snow. Fast-paced trails will entice intermediates and pros, but there are gentle greens for newer skiers to try out. It’s a top-drawer pick for freestylers too. This quaint village also unfolds as a foodie haven, with plenty of farmed produce and tipples to try.

    • Chic Chamonix

      Chic Chamonix

Chamonix is actually known for being a resort that caters to the dedicated weekender. Traffic-free and with some pockets of grand architecture, the resort is an unsurprising favourite. The very first Winter Olympics was held here in 1924, so it’s renowned for its advanced-level slopes. But you can opt for less exhilarating pistes too. After dark, get set to party into the early hours – or at least devour fondue.
