Jet2holidays has today launched Resort Flight Check In, an innovative hotel check in service which means customers can enjoy a hassle-free end to their holiday.
This fantastic free service, unique to the leading package holiday specialist, was originally trialled in a select few hotels in Benidorm and proved so successful that it has been officially rolled out to further top resorts. It is now available in 20 hotels in Benidorm plus more than 40 hotels across Majorca and Tenerife.
The Resort Flight Check In process is simple. Jet2holidays’ friendly reps will greet customers at their hotel on the day of their return flight and check their baggage in on the spot. Its special ground operations team will then securely transport the bags to the waiting aircraft, carrying out all the standard security checks. This leaves customers free to make the most of their last day away without the worry of having to look after their luggage.

Jet2holidays launched Resort Flight Check-In at selected hotels in Majorca at the beginning of April. This exclusive free service is designed to make flights home much easier. It allows customers to check their hold baggage in at the hotel on the last day of the holiday, saving time at the airport. As Jet2holidays is the only holiday operator in Europe offering this service, Senior Copywriter Adrian Vargerson went to see the Resort Flight Check-In team in action.
A great start to the day
The day starts bright and early for the Resort Flight Check-In Team in Majorca. I met up with Team Leader Collette Stephenson at 7.30am, surrounded by the quirky designs and wacky attractions of Sol Katmandu Park & Resort. As one of the biggest family hotels on the island, it was a top choice for our first roll out of Resort Flight Check-In. Collette explained that the spacious foyer made Sol Katmandu the ideal meeting point for the team before beginning their day.
A team effort
There are currently 70 Resort Flight Check-In Operatives working in Majorca, but this number is set to increase to ensure a stellar service over the busy summer season. It was fantastic to see how enthusiastic all the Operatives were this early in the morning. Immediately after greeting the Operative Alex Aggrey, he explained, “I’m really proud of Resort Flight Check-In. It’s satisfying to see how happy it makes our customers.”
After a brief introduction, Collette delegated the hotels to the Operatives, working in teams of two. It’s the most efficient way to work, as one colleague can check boarding cards while another asks security questions and prints bag tags.
On the case in Fergus Club Europa
I was paired with Becky Krawetz and Kaye Rose. We had a busy morning ahead of us, set to visit the Fergus Club Europa in Paguera. This four star Family Favourites hotel was chosen for Resort Flight Check-In as it’s sure to benefit busy families. They can now head to the airport bag-free and sail straight through to Security.
We jumped on the mini-bus to make the 15-minute journey to Paguera. On the way, Becky told me, “Customers can’t believe it’s free. They think it’s such a great service.”
When we arrived, I was impressed at how slick and quick the operation was. Becky set up the Resort Flight Check-In desk while Kaye got the boarding card scanner and bag tag printer ready. We were there promptly just before our stated time of 9am, as we give customers at each hotel a 30-minute window for Resort Flight Check-In.
On this occasion, today’s customers already had their boarding passes and baggage ready in the reception area. Becky checked passports and scanned boarding passes while Kaye asked security questions and printed bag tags. After checking in, a customer asked, “When will we see our bags again?” Becky replied, “You won’t have to worry about them until you’re back in your UK airport. You can pick them up as usual from your Baggage Reclaim area.” The customer was very impressed, “I’m surprised how easy it all is,” he said.
The bags were immediately whisked away by the Jet2holidays Ground Operations Team. They loaded them securely on our branded lorry and drove them away to be immediately packed onto the plane.
Once they had checked in some very happy customers, Becky and Kaye set off to spread the word for tomorrow’s service. The Fergus Club Europa is laid out like a large holiday village, spread across several apartments, dining areas and pools. They had to hotfoot it around the resort to deliver info flyers to all customers who could use the service the next day. After a quick run around in the Majorcan morning sun, we hopped back on the mini-bus to head to our next stop.
Shipshape service at Pirates Village
With a fun pirate theme, lively entertainment and a stunning splash park, the Pirates Village is one of Majorca’s most popular family hotels. That made it a natural fit for the launch of our Resort Flight Check-In. We made the 10-minute journey to sunny Santa Ponsa and again our customers were eager to take advantage of our new free service.
At this hotel, they had the space to set up in their own specially dedicated Resort Flight Check-In room. As expected, Becky and Kaye had lots of families to check in. One question that came up was, “Do we have to give you our pushchair too?” Kaye explained, “No, don’t worry about that. With all Jet2holidays, we let you use your pushchair right up to the aircraft steps. It’s not counted against your hand luggage allowance too.”
It was great to see how impressed our customers were. One of them said, “Is this really all we have to do?” Another asked, “Where do we go at Majorca Airport?” Kaye answered, “You can go straight up the escalators to the Security area. It’ll save you a lot of time.” The Ground Operations Team arrived on time too, ready to load lots of bags onto their lorry.
The end of the day, the start of Resort Flight Check-In
At the end of a busy morning, we made our way back to Sol Katmandu. There were big changes underway here too, with a permanent Resort Flight Check-In base at the hotel. The customer feedback from the day was fantastic, so we know our new service is highly valued. We can look forward to it being rolled out further soon, across more areas in Benidorm, Majorca, Tenerife and Lanzarote.
